PROJECT TITLE :
Using Obama as a prism, this essay examines the culture of American mass media, examining the fidelity of news content amongst the ever-growing, ever-fragmenting, modern media landscape. It investigates the audience’s active engagement in the construction of their relationship to reality, the flawed nature of newsmakers and their perceptions of the world, and offers an alternative narrative approach to the construction of the self.
PROJECT SUMMARY :
As an instructor, I try to constantly come up with new and innovative ways to mentor, push, and encourage my students. In 2011, I joined in on one of Joyce's assignments, which became an experiment in show-and-tell.
The Joyce spring 2011 marketing materials is a project that I gave my graphic design class at Pratt Institute.
The challenge: Develop a custom display-face based on dance/ motion and use that display-face in a series of marketing materials for the Joyce—including but not limited to—seasonal pamphlets, flyers, and posters.
